How not to be a Hot Wife

This will be the story of a young woman who struggles to be an independent woman and a sexual being in a world that makes both goals difficult.

The heroine, Cathy (for consistency at the very least) gets pregnant at 16 and has her baby. She’s blessed because her parents support her finishing school and going to college.

Cathy’s mother takes care of her daughter while Cathy attends a teacher college and works weekends as a bartender at a strip club. Cathy’s focus and the type of guy who frequents strip clubs keeps Cathy out of relationships. In fact, she’s been celibate since her daughter was conceived.

Then she meets Dave, a computer geek a few years older than she is. Dave’s different than the school boys and the strip club heroes. He’s kind, funny, thoughtful and sexy.

And he reminds Cathy of what’s its like to be sexy.

While they are exploring the potential of a relationship and reviving Cathy’s atrophied sexuality Cathy’s mother gets sick and dies. This catastrophe sends Cathy into a tail spin as she arranges to quit school to return home to be a full time mom to her daughter Molly.

Dave offers her a different course of action. She and Molly move in with him. She can have her own room and pay what rent she can afford while she goes to school and he will help take care of Molly.

A very frightened and determined Cathy moves in with Dave. Cathy insists their relationship goes on hold. No dates. No sex. She’ll pay rent but not ‘that way’.

Living together lets them develop a friendship despite the sexual tension. Molly is ready to start school but Cathy doesn’t have health insurance and there are several shots and doctor’s visits required. Cathy panics. She makes money bartending but she didn’t make enough to pay her bills and health care for her daughter.

Cathy knows she could make a lot more money as a dancer at the club but she’d have to provide ‘special services’ to the VIP clients. The money was good. She saw how much the dancers made when they tipped her out at the end of the night. She also saw the bruises and the haunted faces.

Dan offers another solution. They could get married and Molly would be picked up on his health insurance.

Cathy considers this offer but doesn’t know how it is significantly different from working the VIP room at the club.

Cathy and Dave might have a once in a lifetime relationship. Or it might slip through their grasp…
